Leeds United plotting a smart move to sign two Chelsea star boys as the Blues are in financial crises

Leeds United may be able to use an expected exodus from Chelsea this summer to bring in long-term targets. Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Christian Pulisic.

The Blues currently have a bloated first-team squad of 33 players, and Graham Potter is expected to reduce the squad to around 25 players, which means at least eight will leave.

With owner Todd Boehly having spent over £600 million on the squad since taking over last summer, they need to sell players with value in order to balance the books, which could give Leeds an advantage.

Over the last year, we’ve seen USMNT international Christian Pulisic and England international Ruben Loftus-Cheek linked with Elland Road moves, and both are thought to be available for transfer, according to the Evening Standard (28 March).

However, the club was able to sign young French forward Georginio Rutter in a club-record deal for the wide position in January, while American international Weston McKennie was signed on loan from Juventus for the central midfield position.

However, McKennie’s future is uncertain, with some reports claiming that a deal has already been struck to make the loan permanent if the Whites avoid relegation, while others claim that the Whites have no intention of keeping him beyond this season.

While Rutter has struggled to make an impact thus far, Wilfried Gnonto’s future is uncertain, and Patrick Bamford, Rodrigo, and Jack Harrison have all been linked with exits.

If the club avoids relegation and remains in the Premier League next season, there will be money to spend under the new owners, who are expected to take over the club.

Pulisic and Loftus-Cheek are both very experienced players who would bring something to the team that was previously lacking, and it would be difficult to argue that they would not improve the team.

Obviously, relegation would rule out any possibility of a signing, but the club has good relationships with each other after dealing with each other for Raphinha last summer before Barcelona swooped in to hijack a transfer.

However, this is a fantastic opportunity to strengthen the squad with Premier League proven players and potentially get a low-cost deal to capitalize on Chelsea’s issues, rather than a big club moving for our best players and weakening us.
