Leeds United and Stuart McKinstry have reportedly agreed to split ways when his contract expires at the end of the season.
According to the Yorkshire Evening Post [16 May], if he is unable to get a move to a Scottish team, he will join an English club.
Along with McKinstry, Cody Drameh is expected to leave Leeds after his six-month loan at Luton Town finishes.
It appears to be another summer of transition, which was bound to happen if the Whites were relegated from the Premier League.
Even if they stay up, two players appear to be destined to leave, and many more may follow them out.
McKinstry was never going to make the first team, therefore it’s best if he goes elsewhere to get his career back on track.
Leeds can certainly do with Drameh, but they haven’t given him enough playing time in the past, and he may believe he can do better elsewhere.
It remains to be seen who else leaves Elland Road this summer, as there are bound to be a few more departures.
Certain players on the wrong side of 30 have been putting in subpar performances, thus they should be shipped off.
