Leeds United set to make double signing striker and midfielder this summer

According to Football Insider, Leeds United have recognized a need for reinforcements at centre-back, striker, and midfield as the start of the 2023-24 season approaches.

The Whites are focusing on incomings after losing eight players following their relegation from the Premier League last season.

Ethan Ampadu has already joined on a permanent basis from Chelsea, offering manager Daniel Farke with an experienced and versatile alternative.

Meanwhile, Leeds are likely to announce the permanent acquisition of goalkeeper Karl Darlow after he passes a medical.

With Darlow coming in, the Whites are open to parting with Illan Meslier to fund further signings in the final month of the summer window.

Football Insider revealed on Friday (28 July) that Leeds will accept offers of between £20-25million for the Frenchman.

Centre-back has been identified as a critical area for improvement following the exodus of stars in the wake of relegation.

Robin Koch and Diego Llorente have both gone out on loan for the 2023-24 campaign – while Max Wober is also close to sealing a temporary move to Borussia Monchengladbach.

Farke’s side are also ready to move for reinforcements in central midfield with Tyler Adams’ future still up in the air.

Adams is keen to leave Leeds United this summer to play at a higher level, Football Insider reported earlier this week (25 July).

Last month, the Whites released Adam Forshaw at the end of his contract.

A striker is also on the move, with Rodrigo Moreno, last season’s best scorer, joining Qatari club Al-Rayyan early in the window.

According to Football Insider, all three relegated sides are vying for the acquisition of Swansea City striker Joel Piroe.

In other news, Leeds United have agreed to terms with an ex-Celtic player.
