Leeds United set to meet with agent as Whites fully ready for deal with RB Leipzig striker

Following their defeat to AS Monaco, Leeds United are now preparing for a pre-season match against Nottingham Forest.

With the start of the new season less than two weeks away, the Whites are ramping up their summer preparations. Behind the scenes, though, there is still much work to be done, with Daniel Farke needing to add to his squad following a series of loan exits this summer. Leeds are expected to make further additions this week and next.

With that in mind, we’ve compiled a list of all the latest Elland Road news and transfer rumours.

Leeds United are allegedly planning a meeting with RB Leipzig attacker Yussuf Poulsen to discuss a possible trade.

According to Yenicag, the Whites have made an offer for the forward, who has only one offer on the table. Poulsen is now due to meet with Leeds ahead of a possible transfer, according to reports.

The 29-year-old has scored 70 goals in 280 league appearances for RB Leipzig since 2013.

Max Wober’s potential departure to Bundesliga club Borussia Monchengladbach may force fellow wantaway Leeds players to compete for the club’s one remaining outgoing international loan this summer.

FIFA rules allow clubs to make seven incoming and seven exiting foreign loans during the season. Leeds presently have five players on loan at foreign clubs: Robin Koch, Brenden Aaronson, Diego Llorente, Rasmus Kristensen, and Marc Roca, with Max Wober set to become the sixth if a loan transfer to German club Monchengladbach is completed.

Wober’s potential transfer became known following his absence from Leeds’ friendly against AS Monaco last weekend. The Austrian international took no part in the 2-0 defeat, having notified the club that he intended to leave this season, having only joined in January for £10 million from FC Red Bull Salzburg.

Should Wober become the third Leeds player to join a Bundesliga club on loan this summer after Koch and

Aaronson, the club will only be able to make one more outbound foreign loan during 2023/24. According to FIFA regulations, “a club may have a maximum of eight professionals loaned out and eight loaned in at any given time during a season from 1 July 2022 to 30 June 2023.”

“From July 1, 2023 to June 30, 2024, the same configuration applies, but with a maximum of seven professionals.”

A Wober departure would almost certainly compel Leeds to pursue sells rather than loans for the rest of Daniel Farke’s team, unless deals could be reached with clubs in the United Kingdom, as FIFA does not govern domestic loans.
