Leeds United star delivers update after suffering nasty knock on international duty, Elland Road fans will be relieved

It is still a week before Leeds United take on Swansea City, with Daniel Farke likely to be nervously watching on during the international break in case any of his star players get injured.

Leeds already have three players on the sidelines though Largie Ramazani has hinted he is closing in on a return, recently posting as picture of his boots back on. Ethan Ampadu and Ilia Gruev remain sidelined.

Daniel Farke will be hoping his Leeds players currently on duty remain injury free before Sunday’s return to Championship action ahead of a busy winter period, that sees Leeds play five times in just 16 days.

Swansea next, before games against Luton, Blackburn, Derby and Middlesbrough with the last taking place on December 10. Injuries then, are the last thing Leeds need and Joe Rodon will be of concern.

Joe Rodon delivers update on head injury after Wales draw

Rodon and Karl Darlow combined to help Wales not only continue Craig Bellamy’s unbeaten start to life as Wales manager, but secure a point and a clean sheet against Turkey away from home on Saturday.

Turkey dominated and had many chances to score, including an 89th-minute penalty. Kerem Akturkoglu was once linked with Leeds, but the new Benfica star hit the post when facing Darlow in the final minutes.

During the clash, Rodon suffered a nasty gash to his head when attempting to head away a Turkey cross – instead, planting a header on the back of teammate and Oxford United striker Mark Harris’ head.

But Rodon told Sgorio it is nothing to worry about: “To be fair, I’m used to it in the Championship, it’s every other week if I’m honest. It is what it is, a mix-up, but we’re both okay and that’s the main thing.”

How many more games Leeds players are scheduled to play

Farke will be relieved that Rodon is made of stern stuff and that the gash to his head is nothing but a facial injury, and no concussion protocol will have to be followed – leaving Rodon to miss weeks of action.

Especially, with Junior Firpo sidelined for two games. Firpo was also in action on Saturday night, helping The Dominican Republic nearly create history by qualifying for the 2025 Gold Cup for the first time.

Day Player
Sunday Max Wober – Austria vs Slovenia, 5pm
Manor Solomon – Israel vs Belgium, 7.45pm
Monday None in action
Tuesday Brenden Aaronson – USA vs Jamaica, 1am
Ao Tanaka – China vs Japan, 12pm
Wilfried Gnonto – Italy U21’s vs Ukraine U21’s, 5.15pm
Mateo Joseph – Spain U21’s vs Denmark U21’s, 6pm
Joe Rodon, Karl Darlow, Dan James and Charlie Crew – Wales vs Iceland, 7.45pm
Junior Firpo – Dominican Republic vs Bermuda, 11pm

What will please Farke, is that Max Wober, Brenden Aaronson and Ao Tanaka all failed to play a single minute for Austria, the United States and Japan in the first game of the break and will now be rested.
