Legend strongly advised Leeds United to sign Napoli striker before the end of this summer

Leeds United is one of the clubs that has made an unexpected bid for Napoli winger Hirving Lozano.

According to W Deportes, while Leeds, Stoke City, and Everton have all spoken to the 27-year-old’s representatives, he now looks ready to join Los Angeles Football Club.

In fact, a deal is said to be nearing completion, with Lozano expected to reject the aforementioned English trio as well as Saudi Arabia in favor of a move to LAFC.

He is set to sign a four-year contract with the MLS team, effectively ending Leeds’ ambitious pursuit of the midfielder, who made 32 appearances as Napoli won the Serie A title last season.

Lozano is one of the best Mexican players in recent years, and with Leeds being in the Championship, a trade was always doubtful.

According to Transfermarkt, Lozano is worth more than £21 million, which is just too much for Leeds to pay in the second division.

Furthermore, Leeds has a plethora of options in the wide positions, with a number of their players capable of playing at a higher level.

Leeds are desperate to keep players like Wilfried Gnonto, Jack Harrison, and Luis Sinisterra, as well as Crysencio Summerville, Dan James, and Ian Poveda.

Daniel Farke still has a lot of work to do this summer to develop his squad, and cash would be better spent elsewhere.

This link appears to be one of, if not the, most improbable of the window’s options.
