Legend Tony Dorigo finally reveals shocking news about Brenden Aaronson return to Leeds United

Brenden Aaronson impressed during Leeds United’s 4-1 win over Hannover 96 on Wednesday afternoon and Tony Dorigo has given his verdict on Aaronson’s situation, as he returns to Elland Road.

Leeds were excellent in what was only their second pre-season friendly on Wednesday, as Daniel Farke’s men put the second-tier promotion hopefuls to the sword with four excellent goals over in Germany.

It was Aaronson that created the first, threading a gorgeous pass into Ilia Gruev to score. A second came when Georginio Rutter set up Joel Piroe to fire a shot into the far corner with his weaker right foot.

Changes were made at half-time and Mateo Joseph came off the bench to score two second-half goals, with Crysencio Summerville providing an excellent assist as did new signing Jayden Bogle off the right.

Dorigo shares what he has heard about Leeds man Aaronson

The 23-year-old has made the surprise decision to return to Elland Road after a loan at Union Berlin. A difficult first season at Leeds following his £25m move, did not get any better in Germany with Union.

But he has returned to Leeds with a point to prove. His quality was never in doubt, but more a lack of physicality which in turn, affected his confidence as Leeds fans grew frustrated with the USA playmaker.

Now he’s back and Dorigo gave his verdict following Aaronson’s brilliant assist for Gruev to open the scoring while commentating on LUTV, and he says he has heard Aaronson has put weight on in muscle.

He is a player that has got ability. Absolutely no doubt, great skill, great ability, he’s got a pass in him. His game unravelled with confidence. Things were more physical than he thought, he began to struggle.

“I hear he’s put on six or seven pounds of muscle since being in Germany. This year is the Championship. It’s a great opportunity, brave as well to put things right. He looks like he could really be a bonus for us.”

Aaronson starting left-wing is a Crysencio Summerville hint

Whoever started in pre-season games is unlikely to tell the whole story moving forward. Karl Darlow was the starting goalkeeper against Hannover though Illan Meslier is of course, the club’s no.1 goalkeeper.

But Joe Rodon, Georginio Rutter, Ethan Ampadu, Junior Firpo, Ilia Gruev and Willy Gnonto all started against Hannover. Aaronson started over winger Summerville and it might be a sign, or a little hint.

Summerville is expected to leave Elland Road this summer and it might be that Farke is looking at the USA star off the left flank ahead of the new season. It would allow Rutter to remain in the no.10 role.
