This summer, Wilfried Gnonto of Leeds United is garnering interest from both England and abroad.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, both Inter Milan and Juventus have inquired about the winger’s availability.
However, they are up against Everton and Freiburg, who have both made more formal contact with Leeds on the youngster.
Gnonto joined Leeds last summer for a reported £3.8 million from FC Zurich in Switzerland.
The 19-year-old made 24 Premier League appearances, including 14 starts for the Whites, and contributed two goals and four assists.
However, the Italian was unable to prevent Leeds from being relegated to the Championship, as the club ended 19th in the standings.
Relegation is thought to have placed severe doubt on his future at Elland Road, with it understood that he would have stayed with Leeds if they had remained in the top tier.
Losing such a young player, who could potentially play a key role in helping Leeds achieve promotion straight back to the Premier League, would be a huge loss for the Championship club.
A price tag of €15 to 20 million (£12.9 to £17.2 million) has been placed on his future, with a number of teams showing interest.
Juventus’ interest in the youngster is thought to be linked to Federico Chiesa’s future, with the Leeds player considered as a possible replacement for the forward if he leaves Turin this summer.
Meanwhile, Inter Milan are interested in bringing the player back after he left at the age of 16 to join FC Zurich.
Gnonto joined the Italian giants when he was nine years old, but he left for better first-team possibilities in 2020.
Freiburg have been interested in the winger for some time, and Everton are offering Gnonto the option to stay in the Premier League.
During his limited game time last season, Gnonto showed a lot of potential, with his electrifying burst of pace and creativity from out wide presenting a deadly threat in attack.
It was surprising to see him on the bench in the last weeks of the season, and he should be regarded as an important member of the squad if he does stay at Elland Road.
However, the price tag on his head may prove to be a worthwhile pursuit for clubs of this caliber, making it tough to keep him.
However, a transfer of around £15 million would constitute a sizable profit for the player.
