Negotiations are ongoing as Leeds set to buy Whites man – Player wants Elland Road exit

On June 4th, we covered claims from the Italian media that new AS Roma sporting director Florent Ghisolfi is working on signing Leeds United’s Diego Llorente.

A day later, Il Tempo reported that the 30-year-old wants to return to the Serie A side after spending the last 18 months on loan with them.

Another report from the same outlet stated the Leeds player is putting pressure on his entourage to secure an exit from Elland Road in the summer window.

Earlier this week, Corriere dello Sport explained that Roma are having second thoughts about bringing him back to the club. That isn’t the case if a report from a fresh report Il Tempo, relayed by Voce Giallo Rossa, is to be believed.

The Giallorossi are making efforts to try to secure a new deal for the Spaniard. It’s claimed the ‘negotiations are underway’ with Leeds to buy the centre-back, who is valued at around €5m.

Llorente’s contract with the Whites lasts until 2026. With Roma wanting to buy the player, Daniel Farke’s side have an opportunity to cash in from his sale this summer.
