Leicester City midfielder Zach Booth has agreed to a permanent transfer to Dutch side Excelsior, the club has confirmed.

The 20-year-old joined the Foxes from Real Salt Lake in 2020 and initially joined the academy at City before progressing to the development squad. He already boasts a year’s experience in the Eredivisie for FC Volendam – who were relegated last season – he played 27 times for them which will lend itself as crucial experience in his next step in the division.

The starlet’s older brother Taylor Booth also plies his trade in the Netherlands – he is a regular for Utrecht and has earned two USMNT caps as a result of his positive performances in the Eredivisie. The pair actually played against each other last season, with the eldest brother netting a hat-trick to steal the headlines and family bragging rights on that occasion – although Zach did get on the scoresheet.
