Leicester City are getting closer in their ongoing pursuit to add an attacker to their ranks.
The Foxes are still in recovery mode from the massive loss of Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, who departed Leicester City to re-join Enzo Maresca at Chelsea.
Ever since, Steve Cooper’s side have looked to bolster their midfield and attacking options ahead of the 2024/25 Premier League campaign, which has seen experienced attacker Bobby De Cordova-Reid join up.
A permanent deal for Issahaku Fatawu was also struck after his brilliant loan spell and significant contribution to Leicester City’s promotion from the Championship.
Cooper has certainly aimed high in his recent pursuits for attackers, including Argentinian Matias Soule, who opted to stay in Serie A and move from Juventus to Roma.

Although the Foxes were unlucky with the recent talks over one South American gem, they have broken through with another as they look to have finally found a winger that looks likely to join up ahead of the new campaign.
Colombian winger Yaser Asprilla ‘on his way’ to Leicester City
Leicester City are reportedly closing in on a deal for Colombian and Watford star Yaser Asprilla, with the 20-year-old ‘on his way’ to Leicestershire, per Sebastien Denis on X.
The winger has opted for a move to the King Power ‘despite a concrete approach from Stade Rennais’.
Leicester City were recently reported to have ‘to battle it out with Champions League side Porto, whilst Ligue 1 outfit Rennes have also shown interest in signing the attacker’, however the Foxes have now emerged as the favourites in attaining the youngster.
The deal is thought to be in the region of £21million for the youngster with six Colombia caps to his name.
Steve Cooper faces race against time to ensure attacking reinforcements
The Foxes have suffered throughout the summer transfer window so far, chasing unattainable deals and being left short in numbers across the pitch as a result.
Defensively they look solid, albeit a few full-back additions wouldn’t hurt, however the midfield and attack could still do with an overhaul at this point.
Getting a deal done for Asprilla and not letting time get the best of them will give much more of an opportunity to chase over deals, as opposed to letting this one linger on.
If Leicester City don’t wrap up this deal quickly, it could have a domino-effect on any future deals and their pursuit for a midfielder this window, something that can massively effect Cooper’s plans, something that gives enough reason for the Foxes to waste no time with the pursuit of Asprilla.
