The departure of Glen Kamara and Archie Gray has left the middle of the park a bit off-depth at Elland Road. In an attempt to replace the two, Leeds United have intensified their pursuit of Liverpool midfielder Bobby Clark.
The Whites have been eyeing the midfielder for a while now. But as the days pass, the club seems to be realising that the clock is ticking and the deadline day is closing in around 15 days.
According to HITC, The Reds midfielder is one of the priorities for The West Yorkshire outfit. Although, there is also a front-runner in the race and like always it’s not The 49ers.
Ex-Liverpool coach and Klopp’s assistant Pepijn Lijnders is very keen on the youngster. Leading RB Salzburg at the moment, The Dutchman is also dominant in the race to sign Bobby.
Clark is a promising midfielder and his potential has already been praised by Jürgen Klopp and Co. There are also other clubs in the mix with Championship sides Norwich City and Sheffield United eyeing the midfielder.
Die Roten Bullen have been talking about a possible loan or permanent deal. Lijnders would like to have the English midfielder on a permanent move because he sees the Englishman as a long-term asset at Wals-Seizenheim.
Liverpool have sold Fabio Caravalho to Brentford for a reported £25 million. This according to HITC, is the beginning of a transfer exodus at Anfield.
Arne Slot would like a bit of a revamp in a post-Klopp era. Hence, the Dutchman would like to sell the players who are not a part of his plans. There are also rumours that academy graduates Ben Doak and Tyler Morton will be sold as Slot doesn’t see them in his plans either.
Given Liverpool’s willingness to send Clark out on loan, Arne might not have Bobby in his immediate project. The coach’s long-term vision for the youngster is unknown but the Merseyside outfit won’t deny a profitable offer.
That being said, a loan move might be on the club’s mind if they still want him for the future. This might be helpful for Leeds United as the club is looking for a loan move to replace Glen Kamara and Archie Gray.
Salzburg remain the front runners but it is still anyone’s bet. However, The 49ers will have to move fast for which they have a bad reputation.
