BREAKING NEWS: Leicester City to sign unbelievable Tottenham player in few days as he’s open to leaving

Newly promoted Leicester City are said to be one of the clubs interested in signing a Tottenham Hotspur player this summer.

Spurs are expected to part ways with quite a few of their players in the coming weeks

Ange Postecoglou has already allowed the likes of Tanguy Ndombele, Japhet Tanganga, Ryan Sessegnon, Joe Rodon and Troy Parrott to leave the club, but that won’t be all.

One Tottenham player is attracting plenty of interest, and Leicester City are now said to be keen to sign him in the coming weeks.

Leicester City want to sign Oliver Skipp from Tottenham

Oliver Skipp’s future at Tottenham is up in the air.

The talented Englishman joined Spurs’ development centre when he was just five years old. He played in every age group in the academy and was always viewed as a star in the making.

Skipp, branded as ‘unbelievable’ by Daniel Farke (EDP24), has made over 100 appearances for Tottenham’s senior side, which is quite an achievement considering he is still only 23 years old.

However, the midfielder just hasn’t been able to nail down a starting spot for himself.

Under Postecoglou in the 2023/24 season, Skipp made 24 appearances but just seven of those came from the start. He played less than 900 minutes of football in all competitions.

That has led to rumours that he could leave Tottenham, and Sky Sports have revealed that Leicester City are among many clubs keen to sign Skipp this summer.

The update claims that the midfielder is open to a move away from Spurs in search of regular football, but there is a problem.

Skipp is very unlikely to leave Tottenham this summer for one interesting reason.

Why Tottenham are against selling Skipp

Skipp is nowhere near the top of Postecoglou’s pecking order at Tottenham.

When a player is by no means a regular, you would imagine that he would be up for sale, especially when he is open to a move.

However, Tottenham want to keep hold of Skipp because of his homegrown status.

Sky Sports reveal that Skipp ‘fills a crucial spot in the squad as a club-trained player, which Spurs need four of in their Europa League squad’ next season.

That is the only reason why they want to keep hold of Skipp, but that could change if Spurs sign a couple of homegrown players in the remainder of the window.

Chelsea’s Conor Gallagher and Aston Villa’s Jacob Ramsey have been heavily linked with a move to Tottenham.
