Coach name three potential star Leicester City to sign in perfect Wilfred Ndidi replacement

Here, we look at three players Leicester City should target to replace Wilfred Ndidi.

Leicester midfielder Ndidi has enjoyed a remarkable season with The Foxes under the stewardship of Enzo Maresca.

The Italian head coach has reinvented the Nigeria international in a box-to-box role and his attacking output has drastically improved, registering 11 goal contributions in 33 outings.

That form has led Premier League outfit Crystal Palace to take note, as they eye him on a free transfer, according to talkSPORT.

Ndidi is out of contract in the summer and talks to extend his stay are at a standstill with City’s current transfer embargo.

With that said, if he is to depart, here are three replacements the East Midlanders should target.

Yaser Asprilla – Watford

Watford’s Yaser Aprilla is of a slightly different profile to Ndidi, as he certainly has more creative tools in his arsenal.

The 2003-born has netted six times whilst laying on seven assists this term and has been linked with a move to LaLiga giants Barcelona, which evinces how highly rated he is.

Asprilla can operate as a right winger, too, so he’d add depth in that area for City, who have been heavily reliant on Abdul Fatawu.

Emile Smith Rowe – Arsenal

Perhaps a little audacious and it will certainly rely on Leicester gaining promotion but Arsenal’s playmaker Emile Smith Rowe should be targetted in the summer.

The Foxes probably won’t have the finances to secure his signature on a permanent deal but a loan seems feasible given he’s hardly getting a look in at the North Londoners.

Again, he’s more attack-minded than Ndidi, but has played as a number eight under Mikel Arteta, who for whatever reason, has only started him in three league games this term.

Having been capped by England, he’s clearly a talented player and Leicester could be the place to reignite his career.

Ross Barkley – Luton Town

Luton Town signed Ross Barkley on a free transfer last summer and he’s looked back to his old self at Kenilworth Road.

There have been calls for Barkley to be back in the England squad, which amplifies the level he’s been performing at in a side battling to survive relegation.

If Luton do suffer the drop, he could become available for a reasonable fee, given he has a Transfermarkt value of £6.8m.
