Kasey McAteer played his second Premier League game yesterday, coming off the bench to secure that special 1-1 draw, showing his worth and today being announced with a new deal extension, which is brilliant news.
The 22 year old showed last season that he is a special talent and that previous loan moves to Forest Green Rovers and Wimbledon has given him valuable experience in handling senior league football.
Kasey McAteer was esrlier in the summer linked with possible loan moves to Hull and Cardiff, but hopefully we will see McAteer at Leicester this season, as he would be very important.
The squad picked for the opening game could give a few indications of what will come. Leicester are looking for more attacking options, which could see Tom Cannon leaving the club when a new striker is found, but with the form of Jamie Vardy and him being the number one man up front, Steve Cooper will possibly try to sign a player that can be used in more than one position.
Stephy Mavididi was surprisingly dropped from that opener vs. Spurs, possibly for tactical reasons, pushing Bobby De Cordova-Reid up in that left winger position being more defensive orientated.
Tom Cannon was on the bench vs. Spurs, but no minutes this time. Stephy Mavididi was put on for Jamie Vardy as he worked in the centre of the field up front, without really being a treath in those minutes he was on.
We could see Wanya Marcal Madivadua possibly leaving Leicester for Cardiff. This is seen as a loan, but could potentially become a full move for the highly talented winger. He has been far out on the fringe, and not seen as a regular at the club at this time, and earlier in pre-season said he hoped for a loan to happen.
Luke Thomas was not part of the squad vs. Spurs, and possibly a player that could see him self in a frame for a permanent move away. Thomas spent last season on loan at Sheffield United and Middlesbrough.
