There’s not many better at putting the ball in the back of the net than Jamie Vardy.
A late arrival to the Premier League, Jamie Vardy has been a thorn in the side of plenty of opposition defences in recent years, scoring buckets full.
In the top flight alone he has a remarkable 137 goals from 308 appearances (as of August 2024) and 191 in 465 games across all competitions for Leicester City.
So with that, we wanted to pay homage to one of the Foxes’ greatest players of all time and look back at his ten best goals in a Leicester shirt.

10 – Leicester City 2-0 Arsenal, 9 November 2019
We’re starting off with one that epitomised Jamie Vardy and this era of Leicester City.
The early days of the Brendan Rodgers era saw the Foxes play some beautiful stuff and compete for a Champions League spot twice, only to fall away at the final hurdle.
This game against Arsenal though was one of the best and Vardy’s opener just before the the 70th-minute mark was well-deserved after they dominated proceedings.
After some lovely, free-flowing football, Vardy was on hand to tuck home and wheel away with a trademark kneeslide.
9 – Sheffield United 1-2 Leicester City, 6 December 2020
Growing up, Vardy was a boyhood Sheffield Wednesday fan so the chance to try and score against their rivals Sheffield United was one he was never going to turn down.
With the Foxes struggling to conjure anything up against a struggling Blades side, Vardy was on hand to deliver the crucial blow at Brammall Lane.
As with many of his goals, Vardy broke between the defensive line to leave him one-on-one with the goalkeeper, slotting past him cooly and calmly before slide-tackling the corner flag, breaking it in two.
Never change, Jamie.
8 – Newcastle United 0-3 Leicester City, 21 November 2015
Leicester’s title win in the 2015/16 season is the greatest story in modern footballing history but collecting a Premier League winners’ medal wasn’t the only thing Vardy did that season.
His most famous individual accolade was breaking the record for the number of games scored in consecutively.
Rudd van Nistelrooy held the record at the time having scored in 10 consecutive top-flight games and heading into the Newcastle United fixture, Vardy did exactly that.
With half-time just moments away, Vardy played a neat one-two with Leonardo Ulloa before drilling a shot into the bottom corner.
Vardy would go on to break the record a week later and that goal may or may not feature later on…
7 – Manchester City 2-5 Leicester City, 27 September 2020
Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City side hasn’t always fared well against Leicester and this performance in 2020 is one that would’ve given the Catalan nightmares.
Vardy had a great game that day and grabbed a hat trick. Two of them were from the penalty spot but it was the one from open play that caught the eye.
The Foxes’ number nine was on hand in the box to get to the end of Timothy Castagne’s low-driven cross to flick the ball past Ederson and put the away side 2-1.
A sumptuous finish on one of Leicester’s best away performances in their Premier League history.
6 – Leicester City 3-1 AFC Bournemouth, 31 August 2019
Vardy was a jack of all trades when it came to goals.
More often than not he’d be a fox in the box but then there would be the odd occasion in which he would score a long-range effort.
This is a perfect example of one of them. During the Rodgers reign, Leicester were often known for their possession style of play but this went back to old routes as Ben Chilwell’s long punt up the pitch was met by Vardy, who lobbed the ball over a helpless Aaron Ramsdale.
5 – West Brom 2-3 Leicester City, 31 October 2015
Death, taxes, Vardy scoring against West Brom.
That specific corner at The Hawthorns have sleepless nights thinking about Vardy and it’s understandable, he’d score on almost every visit.
This one in terms of technique is certainly the best he scored on his trip to the west Midlands.
Riyad Mahrez’s long ball over the top allowed Vardy to run in behind the defender, allowing the ball to run over his head before unleashing a fierce volley to put Leicester ahead.
