Steve Cooper should have a near fully-fit squad to choose from when Leicester City head to Crystal Palace this Saturday (3pm kick-off) but late returns from the international break may have an influence on team selection.
As things stand, with no reports of injuries to City’s international stars so far, there will be just three players unavailable. Jakub Stolarczyk and Patson Daka are absent as they recover from ankle surgery, while loaned-in striker Odsonne Edouard will not be eligible to play against his parent club
Danny Ward, who had missed the defeat to Aston Villa with injury, may be back on the bench at Palace. He recovered to keep a clean sheet for Wales against Turkey in Craig Bellamy’s first game in charge.
Cooper chose not to start Facundo Buonanotte against Villa because of a slight groin problem, but the Argentinian may be in line to start at Selhurst Park. He’s been one of a dozen first-team players to remain at Seagrave, and that may mean he is selected ahead of Bilal El Khannouss for now, with the £20m signing only spending a couple of days at City before heading off to represent Morocco.
Conor Coady will hope to force his way into a Premier League matchday squad for the first time this season. The defender, who missed the first couple of weeks of the campaign with a hamstring injury, has been the only centre-back at Seagrave this past week, with Jannik Vestergaard, Caleb Okoli, and Wout Faes on international duty with Denmark, Italy, and Belgium respectively.
