Daniel Farke’s Leeds United job is safe for now with club chiefs not ready to end his reign, sources have told Football Insider.
Football Insider revealed on Monday (16 September) that Farke is “under pressure” at Elland Road after the Whites’ underwhelming start to the season.
But while the German’s long-term future is in question, it is believed that top-ranking club chiefs are not yet panicking.
The ex-Norwich boss will remain in his post at the Yorkshire giants and will be allowed to try and inspire a turnaround in the coming weeks.
Fans have tipped (16 September) West Brom’s Carlos Corberan to take over at Elland Road if Farke is sacked.
Leeds have picked up eight points from their opening five games in the Championship season after losing 1-0 at home against promotion rivals Burnley on Saturday (14 September).
The pressure is on for Farke to deliver promotion this term after defeat against Southampton in the playoff final in May.
Leeds chiefs not yet ‘panicking’ about Farke
However, sources say club chiefs know Farke is capable of leading his side to a winning run and catapulting them back into pole position for promotion.
Leeds had a slow start last season but recovered to launch themselves into contention for automatic promotion – before dropping into a playoff place.
Farke’s side was decimated in the summer window with key men like Crysencio Summerville, Georginio Rutter and Archie Gray all leaving for the Premier League.
The Whites face Cardiff, Coventry and Norwich in their next three Championship fixtures.
