According to Fabrizio Romano’s tweet, Leicester City have filed a new loan request for Chelsea midfielder Cesare Casadei, despite the Blues’ insistence on a Premier League loan for him.
Enzo Maresca, the new Leicester coach, could be crucial in this deal. The Italian wants Casadei because the Foxes want to return to the Premier League after being demoted at the end of last season.
Chelsea signed the young Italian midfielder from Inter Milan for about £12 million plus add-ons. Despite the fact that he has yet to play a senior match for the Blues, his performances at the U20 World Cup in Argentina drew a lot of attention.
In seven matches in that competition, the 20-year-old scored seven goals and assisted two others, leading Italy to the final before succumbing to Uruguay.
