Fans celebrates as Leicester City top striker makes shocking emergency early return

Latest Leicester City news as Kelechi Iheanacho reportedly makes an early return from international duty with Nigeria

Leicester City striker Kelechi Iheanacho has left the Nigeria camp earlier than expected, it has been claimed.

The forward has been on international duty with the Super Eagles and scored in a 2-2 draw with Saudi Arabia on Friday. He came off the bench in that game, with Leicester teammate Wilfred Ndidi playing the full 90 minutes.

It has now been claimed that Iheanacho will play no part in their game against Mozambique on Monday (October 16). That’s because he has already left their camp.

According to a report from Nigerian outlet All Nigeria Soccer, Iheanacho left the camp on Saturday (October 14). They claim he was excused because of a “family emergency”.

Ndidi seemingly remains with his national team, despite Leicester having a league game just five days after Nigeria’s next fixture. It remains to be seen if he will be fit for the match at Swansea City after a long commute.

Should Iheanacho and Ndidi both be available next weekend, they will be contenders to start against the in-form Swans. Their manager, Michael Duff, has already given his thoughts on the game.
