Fatawu made a promise to Leicester’s supporters ahead of this evening’s game.
Leicester City winger Abdul Fatawu has promised his side’s supporters that his team will be even more ready for tonight’s game against Sunderland than they were for last weekend’s match at Swansea City, speaking to the Foxes’ media team.
The recently relegated side had the opportunity to recover and recharge their batteries during the international break ahead of last Saturday’s match at the Swansea.com Stadium – and will have richly benefitted from that.
They did fall behind against Michael Duff’s men, but secured a 3-1 victory in South Wales and that extended their lead at the top of the Championship table, with Ipswich Town’s game at Rotherham United being postponed on Friday night.
The Foxes are now in a very strong position – and will be favourites to secure another win this evening against Sunderland – even though Tony Mowbray’s side have started the season reasonably well.
One of their key strengths that has helped them to secure points this season is their depth, with Enzo Maresca’s side managing to utilise the bench to their advantage and even scoring some late winners this season. Their summer business helped them to ensure they had this depth.

This could help Maresca rotate his side during a busy schedule – and the Italian could opt to make a few changes tonight to keep energy levels up.
What did Abdul Fatawu say ahead of the Sunderland game?
Fatawu managed to get himself on the scoresheet at the Swansea.com Stadium last weekend and he will be delighted by that.
However, his thoughts were on the next game after the final whistle and he made a key promise ahead of this evening’s game against Tony Mowbray’s side.

He said: “I’m just assuring the fans that we are going to do more than we’ve done today (Saturday) on Tuesday. We are always ready for the games; we are giving our all and we are going for the win on Tuesday.
“As a team, everyone is ready. And even if you are not playing, everyone is supportive of the team and, with the squad we have, I think there’s no doubt, I’m always proud of the team. Every time we are ready for the game.”
