Former Crystal Palace chairman slams Leicester City midfielder over Leicester City comments

Simon Jordan blasts James Maddison for his comments on Leicester City.

LeicestershireLive brings you the latest Leicester City news, including Simon Jordan’s reaction to James Maddison’s comments following the Foxes’ defeat at Fulham.

Pundit Simon Jordan has slammed Leicester City star James Maddison following his comments during the Foxes’ 5-3 defeat against Fulham.

After a thrashing at Craven Cottage on Monday, City have dropped back into the Premier League’s bottom three with only three games remaining. Leicester are presently two points away from relegation.=

Following the bruising defeat in West London, Maddison claimed that the team “were not hungry enough” in a harsh interview on Match of the Day.

The 26-year-old later came out to explain his statements, which he claims were “taken out of context.” Jordan, on the other hand, has criticized Maddison, arguing that the explanation has not changed the essence of what was spoken.

“We’re talking about appetite and hunger,” Jordan said. “If you’re not prepared to win your first battles and duels and be on the front foot, then you’re not playing for the shirt the way you should because those are the default settings.”

“Ability, adversity, challengers, and mistakes are things that happen and cannot be legislated for.” But the one thing you can control in life is your own mental reaction to things and your attitude to the game.

“Talk about the hunger side of things, which has been extrapolated to a lack of desire, and then he turns around and says, ‘what I actually meant was we weren’t competitive enough in our duels, we didn’t win our battles,’ which is the same thing.” It’s the same subject, just presented from a different angle.

“Hunger is exaggerated to the point where there is no desire but the desire to meet the expectations of putting your best foot forward; it’s the same thing just disguised.” As a result, he remains stuck behind the eight ball.

“He’ll be one of the first players on the train to somewhere other than Leicester.” So don’t have the arrogance to come on with a lack of hunger and lose duels because you’ll be gone.”
