Kelechi Iheanacho, a Super Eagles and Leicester City striker, has returned to training, according to Soccernet.ng.
Dean Smith, Leicester’s interim manager, stated in a press conference earlier today that the attacker has returned to training and could yet play against Newcastle United next week.
Kelechi Iheanacho was injured early last month in a 1-1 draw at Elland Road against Leeds, when he played 82 minutes before being replaced by Dennis Praet due to a groin injury.

After spending most of the season on the bench under former manager Brendan Rodgers, the Nigerian forward began to find his feet under interim manager Dean Smith, scoring in games against Wolverhampton Wanderers and his former club, Manchester City, both of which ended in defeat.
Iheanacho has contributed to nine Leicester City goals this season, with five goals and four assists in a season in which the Foxes have fought tooth and nail to stay in the English Premier League. With this achievement, Iheanacho has the third most goal contributions for Leicester this season, trailing only captain James Maddison and Harvey Barnes.
Iheanacho’s return to the team might be a huge boost for them, since they are presently 19th in the Premier League and need all the points they can earn in their final games this season if they are to stay afloat.
Leicester play Newcastle next weekend before facing West Ham in the season finale, which could be a miracle or the final nail in the coffin.
