Diangana, a 25-year-old winger from West Brom, returned to The Hawthorns in the summer of 2020 after a good loan spell with the club.
The Lubumbashi-born winger hasn’t quite reached his full potential, but he remains a threatening presence on the wing. He had four goals and three assists in 31 Championship games last season, bringing his total for the Baggies in all competitions to 15 goals and 11 assists in 129 appearances.
Reports of interest have now emerged from Lewis Cox of the Express & Star.
Championship rivals Leeds United and Leicester City are thought to be interested in Diangana. Burnley of the Premier League are also fans, while clubs from Saudi Arabia are rumored to be interested.
Diangana hasn’t taken off as quickly as expected since his permanent comeback, but the skill is undeniable. Diangana has the potential to excel with the correct coaching, game time, and if he can stay healthy.
However, in order to accomplish so, he may need to make a fresh start. Leeds United and Leicester City would both be intriguing choices, affording him a reasonable chance of returning to the Premier League in a year’s time, whereas Burnley could do so right away.
Saudi Arabian money has been a key participant in the transfer market this summer, so if West Brom can hold fast on a £7m valuation, they could be the Baggies’ best option for a deal. Time will tell how the situation plays out, with Diangana’s preferences undoubtedly influencing where he goes if he is to move on.
