Former Arsenal academy striker Amani Richards looks to be on the move again this summer, with a number of clubs interested in his signature.
The Evening Standard report that Brentford, QPR, Sunderland, and clubs in Germany, Belgium, and Denmark are all interested in former Arsenal academy forward Amani Richards this summer.
The teenager currently plays his football for Leicester City, having joined the Foxes from Arsenal back in early 2022. But he’ll be out of contract again this summer, and he’s pushing to move on.
Leicester were keen to keep the youngster, pushing to extend his contract. Ideally, they’d still like him to renew.
But the player’s desire to play first-team football and the lack of opportunities to do so with his current club have led to him running down his deal instead.
Richards has made 22 appearances for the Leicester u21s this season, scoring three goals and providing five assists.
Yet the player’s contract situation has evidently impacted his minutes, with just three of his 14 starts coming in 2024.
More recently, the forward has been limited to cameo appearances, coming on for half an hour or less in each of Leicester’s last five games.
As for first-team involvement, the player hasn’t had any appearances in a senior squad with his current club.
Richards was highly rated during his early appearances for Arsenal, exploding onto the scene with a number of goals and assists in 2021, and quickly earning a professional contract.
But less than a year after joining, he was gone, evidently hoping for more opportunities at Leicester than Arsenal had offered.
A couple of years on, he looks to be on the move again.
