The winger has already impressed on trial for the League Two champions
That’s according to a report from Leicestershire Live, who say that the 21-year-old has already impressed on trial for the recently crowned League Two champions.
Having come through the youth ranks at Leicester, Maswanhise made his senior debut for the Foxes earlier this season, coming off the bench in their FA Cup win over Millwall.
He then followed that up in March by winning his first senior international cap for Zimbabwe, in a friendly defeat against Kenya.
Now it seems as though that progress is already starting to attract interest from elsewhere in the Football League.
Leicester winger a potential target for Stockport
According to this latest update, Maswanhise has recently joined Stockport on trial, and is already catching the eye there.
The forward reportedly scored a hat-trick for the Hatters’ reserve team in a 3-3 friendly draw with Brentford B on Tuesday night.
As a result, Stockport are now said to be weighing up a potential move for Maswanhise, who is considering his options ahead of the summer.
It is thought that the striker’s current contract with Leicester is due to expire at the end of this season, and it remains to be seen if the Foxes will offer him a new deal.
That of course, means he could be free to move where he wants when the season comes to an end, potentially opening the door for a move to Stockport.
Leicester looking to match Stockport success
It is already job done for Stockport this season, with promotion to League One as League Two champions already confirmed.
Leicester are now looking to match that feat at Championship level in the final two games of their regular season.
Enzo Maresca’s side currently top of the standings, four points clear of second-placed Leeds United, and five clear of third-placed Ipswich Town, who do have a game in hand.
