Leicestershire’s most recent Leicester City newsFollow the Foxes’ plans for next season, assuming they can stay in the Premier League.
Leicester City are allegedly interested in signing Jefferson Lerma from Bournemouth.
After joining in 2018, the Colombian’s contract will expire at the end of the season. He has been a constant in the squad, and the Cherries are eager to keep him.
Lerma, on the other hand, is said to be “exploring his options,” according to Team Talk. Along with Leicester, the 28-year-old is being courted by Lille and Nice in France, Real Betis and Villarreal in Spain, and Crystal Palace, Fulham, Nottingham Forest, and West Ham in England.
However, City and Forest’s interest will be totally dependent on whether they can retain their Premier League position this season.
When asked about Lerma’s future, Cherries manager Gary O’Neill responded, “No decision made as far as I’m aware, so hopefully he’ll be here.” Jeff’s performances, I believe, demonstrated that he was completely committed to the cause.
“Now that the relegation battle is over, hopefully we can start putting something in place where he stays, but no confirmation either way.”
