Leicester City make concrete move to sign midfielder as perfect Wilfred Ndidi pair

Leeds United were reportedly keen on including Tottenham’s Oliver Skipp in a deal that saw Archie Gray head to North London, but now he is a target for Leicester City.

The Whites have midfield investment on the agenda this month after seeing Archie Gray and Glen Kamara leave the club.

Joe Rothwell has arrived but the club currently have three senior midfielders on the books and Charlie Crew aiming to break through.

Leeds previously tried for Oliver Skipp in Archie Gray talks

As Leeds were locked in talks with Tottenham over the sale of Archie Gray at the back end of June, the club looked to bring players in the opposite direction.

Of course, Joe Rodon re-signed for the club on a £10million deal, but Football.london shared that Leeds also hoped to include Oliver Skipp in the deal too.

Spurs seemingly declined that chance, as Daniel Farke was no doubt keen to reunite with a star midfielder from his time at Norwich City in 20/21.

Leicester City in hunt for Oliver Skipp after Leeds interest

Football Insider are now sharing that newly-promoted Leicester City are plotting a move to sign the deep-lying midfielder this summer.

Steve Cooper’s side are looking for more in the middle of the park off the back of seeing star man Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall move to Chelsea.

It remains to be seen if Spurs will be receptive of interest in the midfielder, even if they have invested strongly in young talent in Skipp’s position of late.

If Leeds signed Skipp, they would have a very strong midfield setup after landing Rothwell as well for cover.

However, it might be the case that Farke wants more from his midfield in terms of final third output, with Glen Kamara being sold this week.

He would be a very solid signing for Leicester if that happens, but you’d wonder if they can manage the funds of any deal in their current position.
