Unai Emery’s club has been connected with a £50 million transfer for Leicester City’s Harvey Barnes, according to BirminghamLive.
According to rumours, Aston Villa linked Harvey Barnes is ‘unlikely to stay’ at Leicester City.
The attacker has 12 goals and one assist in 32 Premier League games for Leicester this season and is regarded as one of England’s brightest prospects.
However, his club is trying to keep their top-flight position, which is now out of their hands following Monday’s 0-0 draw at Newcastle. Even if Leicester win at home against West Ham on the last day, they will be relegated if Everton defeat Bournemouth.
According to MailOnline, even if Dean Smith’s side avoids relegation, they will struggle to keep Barnes this summer and will ‘find it difficult to resist’ a £50 million bid.
They further allege that if the Foxes are demoted, the sum will be reduced. West Ham have also been connected, with the Hammers poised to transfer captain Declan Rice for around £100 million.
Barnes could have an option between two European clubs if West Ham win their UEFA Conference final against Florentina next month. If they win, David Moyes’ squad will qualify for next season’s Europa League, while Villa will be in the Conference League if they stay in seventh position.
