Leicester City preparing £10m player-plus-cash deal with Leeds United as chances drop slim

Leeds United have been linked with a Bundesliga champion this summer, and a new report shares whether Leeds actually stand a chance of landing him and the possibility of a player-plus-cash deal.

Leeds are expected to be in the market for a number of new players in the coming weeks and months. With The 49ers needing to cash in and make a profit, Leeds will have to scour the market for bargains.

The likes of Crysencio Summerville, Willy Gnonto and Georginio Rutter are all expected to generate interest over the course of the summer and if they go, they will need replacing by those at Elland Road.

Bayer Leverkusen star Adam Hlozek is one player Leeds have been linked with, battling Championship winners Leicester City in the race to sign the Czech Republic star with a fee of £12.75m said to be needed.

Leeds chances of signing Adam Hlozek, and potential swap deal

Typically, Leverkusen are themselves looking at a move for Summerville among almost half of the top-tier clubs in England as Xabi Alonso looks to strengthen his side ahead of a Champions League campaign.

Transfer expert Ben Jacobs has delivered a report on Give Me Sport’s website and he says that Leeds stand little chance of signing Hlozek having failed to get promoted, while dismissing a swap transfer.

He says there had been suggestions of a player-plus-cash deal involving Hlozek and Summerville, but that actually Leeds would prevent such a move because they want a cash-only fee for Summerville.

Hlozek would be a stunning signing but Leeds need others

A goalkeeper could be required if Illan Meslier goes, right-back is a problem area and Joe Rodon needs replacing. Cover for Junior Firpo is key, and another body in midfield if Ethan Ampadu stays in defence.

Out wide, replacements for Summerville, Gnonto and Jaidon Anthony are a necessity while a no.10 has long been missing in Daniel Farke’s side. But the one position Leeds do not need, is the top of the pitch.

Leeds have a £16m signing in Joel Piroe, Patrick Bamford doesn’t look as if he is going anywhere and Mateo Joseph could be the one to make a breakthrough. Hlozek would be class, but he isn’t needed.
