Leicester City set to battle Burnley for another Manchester City signing

Leicester City transfer news via LeicestershireLive, as the Foxes compete with Burnley for Cole Palmer.

According to reports, Leicester City are likely to compete with Burnley for the loan signing of Manchester City midfielder Cole Palmer.

Leicester manager Enzo Maresca, who was Pep Guardiola’s assistant at the Etihad last season, is hopeful his contacts with the Citizens will pay off as he attempts to boost his squad this summer.

City have signed three players so far: Harry Winks, Conor Coady, and Manchester City defender Callum Doyle.

Leicester have already done business with the reigning champions, thanks to Doyle’s season-long loan. A deal for Palmer, on the other hand, may be more difficult to come by.

According to Sun transfer expert Alan Nixon, Manchester City and Burnley are “heading the chase” for Palmer.Clarets manager Vincent Kompany is a former Manchester City captain.

Another element hurting Leicester’s chances is the “feeling he is too good” for the Championship after Palmer appeared 25 times under Guardiola last season as Man City won the Premier League, FA Cup, and Champions League. He was also a member of England’s Under-21 squad, who won the European Championship after defeating Spain in the final 1-0.
