Earlier this month, it was reported that Leicester City were among a number of clubs interested in ex-Arsenal and Juventus midfielder Mavididi, who had previously played for Montpellier.
And now, Romano has stated on Twitter that the Foxes ‘hope to get’ a deal for the Englishman done today, adding that talks are’very advanced’.
Personal terms are also ‘on the edge of being agreed upon,’ according to Romano.

Mavididi appears ready to join the likes of Conor Coady, Harry Winks, and Mads Hermansen in signing a permanent agreement with the Foxes this summer, while Manchester City starlet Callum Doyle has joined on loan for the 2023/24 season.
Meanwhile, Harvey Barnes appears to be closing in on a deal to Newcastle United, joining Spurs’ James Maddison in leaving the Foxes this summer.
Is this a good signing?
Mavididi has appeared in 91 games for Montpellier in the last four seasons, scoring 21 goals. He spent the majority of his time on loan at Dijon.
He’s created a reputation for himself in France despite failing to break into the first team at both Arsenal and Juventus, so expect him to have something to prove when he returns to England.
And the stage will be his next season to prove any skeptics wrong. Following the departures of Maddison and, soon, Barnes, Enzo Maresca will no doubt regard him as a key player, thus the focus will be on Mavididi to offer the innovation.
Leicester, on the other hand, has made some really remarkable signings this summer, and there may be a few more before the transfer market closes on September 1st.
