Leicester City showing so much interest to sign £17.5million Brazilian speed winger

Tête, a Brazilian winger, is pursuing a move to the Premier League this month, with Leicester among the clubs showing considerable interest in him.

Tête is currently on loan at Shakhtar Donetsk, but he is expected to be available this window if arrangements can be reached with both the Ukrainian club and Lyon.

Lyon has a £17.5 million option to sign Tête, but it is uncertain whether the French club, who are having a difficult season, would exercise it.

Leicester had previously scouted Tête as they attempted to fill a void on the right side of their attack.

In 17 appearances in Ligue 1, he has six goals and three assists. He is also left-footed, allowing him to score or create from the flank.

The struggling Foxes will add to their roster this month after signing Danish left-back Victor Kristiansen from FC Copenhagen for £17 million, but they are not the only team interested in Tête. Everton and Nottingham Forest are both looking for a wide player, and Tête is on their radar.

Leicester is also interested in signing a central defender, with Stoke’s Harry Souttar being a top target.

Following Saturday’s 2-2 draw with Brighton, which left Leicester one point above the relegation zone, manager Brendan Rodgers stated, ‘We need improvement in the team to bring in technically better players.’

‘Adding to the team during the current transfer window has been a top priority for us,’ said Chairman Aiyawatt Srivaddhanprabha.
