Leicester City defender Jannik Vestergaard is still in talks to leave the club this summer, according to reports.
Belgian journalist Sacha Tavolieri claims that ‘talks have taken place’ between the player and Anderlecht.
It’s just not clear whether they’re attempting a loan from Leicester City or a permanent transfer, although the latter would make far more sense.
The talks seem to be in their initial stages, as according to Tavolieri, no personal terms have been agreed yet.
There are two days for the transfer to be sorted, though, as the Belgian transfer window closes on Wednesday.
Vestergaard has started in all of Leicester City’s games in the Championship so far, so losing him at this stage of the season would certainly be a blow for the Foxes, who can’t get him replaced until January.
The 31-year-old only has a contract with the club until the end of the season, though, and that creates the opportunity for him to leave the club for free next summer.
He’s currently valued by Transfermarkt at €4m, and we shall see the conditions demanded by the English side for this transfer.
