Leicester City winger has been heavily linked with a move to PL club this summer

Harvey Barnes missed Leicester City’s pre-season match against Northampton Town due to injury, according to manager Enzo Maresca, amid rumors about his future.

This summer, the City winger has been widely connected with a move to Newcastle United, with the academy graduate one of the players expected to leave the club before the start of the new season. West Ham and Aston Villa are two other clubs that have been linked.

Eddie Howe, the manager of Newcastle United, has declined to comment on his pursuit of Leicester City forward Harvey Barnes.

Barnes has been extensively linked with a move to Newcastle, with the two clubs apparently in talks over a deal. He was rested for the first two Leicester friendlies of the summer, adding to the rumors.

When asked if he admired Barnes in the transfer market, Newcastle manager Howe refused to make a ‘disrespectful’ remark about the City player. “I can’t say anything,” he said. “I would never be disrespectful, so there is no comment.”

City is ‘working on’ a deal to Chelsea.

Cesare Casadei, a Chelsea youth, is a target for Leicester City.

According to the Telegraph, City manager Enzo Maresca has identified the 20-year-old midfielder as a potential successor for James Maddison, who joined Tottenham last month, and Harvey Barnes, who continues to garner interest from Newcastle.

Casadei played the second part of the season on loan at Reading, where he appeared 15 times as the club was relegated to League One. He joined Chelsea from Inter Milan last year in a deal worth up to £17 million with potential future add-ons.

Former Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers is said to be ‘focused’ on signing Jonny Evans to Celtic this summer.

Rodgers is allegedly interested in signing Evans this summer, as the defender is presently a free agent after his contract with Leicester expired at the end of June.

Evans, 35, has been training with Manchester United as he hunts for a new club this summer, despite Leicester has made him a contract offer. Evans is increasingly unlikely to sign it as he considers his alternatives elsewhere.
