Leicester legend fuming while Foxes may get notable boss sacked

One Leicester City legend in particular, among other fans, was left fuming after the latest disappointment for the east Midlands side. Gary Lineker was very upset with the outcome and overall performance versus Crystal Palace at the weekend. Of course, Steve Cooper’s men managed to throw away a two-goal lead along with two points at Selhurst Park on Saturday. But what did Newcastle United icon Alan Shearer divulge of the Match of the Day host and former LCFC striker?

Meanwhile the King Power club may be able to get a vital win in an upcoming match. Not to mention then hypothetically being party to a notable manager getting the sack. City play Premier League relegation rivals Everton in a few days. And this fixture is truly one to be figuratively described by the oxymoron ‘six-pointer’. If the Toffees fail in Leicestershire, Sean Dyche could soon be out of a job. Will Leicester collect a first victory of the current season? And would that lead to EFC making a significant managerial decision?

Leicester City can facilitate Sean Dyche’s Goodison Park downfall

You can easily understand why Everton are in a similarly rocky and swaying boat to Leicester. Both clubs can’t spend what they’d ultimately like to for indistinguishable and separate reasons.

The Foxes obviously didn’t plan or execute business well for over three or more years at this point. That mishandling and lack of foresight led to Profit and Sustainability problems, as well as no cash or margins for appropriate spending. Oh dear; LCFC was so beautifully ran not so long ago. Hopefully more prudence is applied in the future.

Then we have the Merseysiders who have one eye on the new Bramley-Moore Dock stadium. The state-of-the-art arena is under construction in Vauxhall, Liverpool at the moment. And, naturally, the Toffees went through their own Financial Fair Play crisis too.

Nevertheless, both teams are facing realistic demotion to the Championship. It’ll be more of a shock for EFC and their ultra-loyal fan base. This is because, as of 2024, they are the longest-serving first division outfit. That’s 122 consecutive campaigns in England’s top league, at this stage.

Even if Dyche is relieved of duty following City and subsequently the Palace clash, Cooper could soon follow. While the counterparts are respectively known for avoiding the dreaded drop, neither roster is very well-stocked.

Gary Lineker on Foxes stalemate

Let’s hear the MotD man’s thoughts on the draw:

“Lineker was left flabbergasted by Leicester City’s performance at the weekend, with [Alan] Shearer joking that he had ‘steam coming out of his ears’ at one point.”
