Leicester narrow down finally manager shortlist to THREE candidates after Enzo Maresca joined Chelsea

Leicester are hopeful of appointing their new manager next week after narrowing down their shortlist following an initial sounding period.

Former Chelsea and Brighton boss Graham Potter is admired by the Foxes along with West Bromwich Albion coach Carlos Corberan and Steve Cooper, who left Nottingham Forest last December.

Though Potter has turned down a number of roles since he was sacked by Chelsea more than a year ago, Leicester have not given up hope of tempting him back

Promoted from the Championship last season at the first time of asking, Leicester lost head coach Enzo Maresca to Chelsea and may start the season with a points deduction after being charged with breaking spending rules.

They are also likely to have to sell players this month to stay within profitability and sustainability regulations.

However, Leicester hope Potter will be attracted by the chance to stamp his mark on the club, as he did at Brighton. The club’s facilities are among the best in Europe – ideal for a figure like Potter who does much of his best work on the training ground.

Corberan is being followed closely by Leicester after leading Albion to the play-offs last season but is under contract at The Hawthorns for three more years.

Cooper, meanwhile, is Wales No1 choice if they sack Rob Page but is currently focused on returning to club management.
