Leicester push to 19-year-old signing as boss explains Coady absence

Leicester City are apparently targeting the signing of a 19-year-old. However, there is Premier League competition for the signature. Meanwhile Foxes head coach Enzo Maresca explains Conor Coady’s absence as Jannik Vestergaard becomes undroppable.

Leicester, Everton and Stoke City are after the same man: Dylan Sloan. Sloan is a young Northern Irishman, who plays in midfield for Larne FC.

An explosive box-to-box footballer, the 19-year-old is highly rated. LCFC’s scouts are said to be ‘blown away‘ by the talent.

Why isn’t relative marquee signing Conor Coady playing for Leicester City?

As you may have noticed, the Jannik Vestergaard renaissance is in full flow on Filbert Way. The Dane is now finally enjoying his time in Leicestershire. Now that there is a manager in place who knows how to deploy the imposing defender, the former Southampton man is shining.

How much of the resurrection is due to plummeting to the Championship is anyone’s guess. I felt Vestergaard struggled massively in the English top-flight with LCFC. Yet he never had a true run in the team. While off-the-pitch talk affects certain athletes more than others; see Harry Maguire’s recent history to learn more on that theory.

In addition to making a starting spot his own, the Danish international is simultaneously keeping a major signing out of the east Midlands team. Conor Coady was expected to be the main man at the back for the Foxes. But injury derailed his start to life as a Fox. The ex-Toffees centreback must wait his turn, according to manager Enzo Maresca.

The Italian also mentioned that the England-capped player must train hard, work hard and be ready when called upon. Maresca added that the onetime Wolverhampton Wanderers star is helping the squad irrespective of playing time, along with doing everything he can at training. Furthermore, the gaffer said that the conundrum is a ‘nice’ problem to have.
