Leicester City are still in search of their first Premier League victory of the season.
Leicester have played well in patches but ultimately, Steve Cooper’s side have come up short in all six games.
There’s been a lot of unrest in the fanbase about Cooper’s style of play and team selection, so Saturday’s clash against Bournemouth almost feels like a must-win heading into the international break.
With that said, Paul Merson has just issued his score prediction.
Paul Merson predicts Leicester City 1-1 Bournemouth
Writing in his Sportskeeda column, Arsenal legend Paul Merson predicted Leicester to draw with Bournemouth at the King Power Stadium this weekend.
“You look at this one and it’s such a huge game for Leicester,” Merson said.
“They absolutely have to win this football match, no two ways about it. It’s very important they get their first win as soon as possible, if they wish to avoid relegation.
“Even though Bournemouth looked good against Southampton, they are still a bottom-half team at the end of the day.
Merson admitted that he’s been quite impressed with Leicester at times but predicted a 1-1 draw: “Out of all the three promoted teams, I’m backing Leicester to finish higher. To be fair to them, they’ve played well in patches.
“Even against Arsenal last weekend, they showed great character to get back into the game from 2-0 down.
“I’d have to go for a draw here though.”
Steve Cooper’s future could rest on Bournemouth clash
Cooper has already lost sections of the fanbase this season due to his pragmatic approach to games and ultimately results.
So Saturday’s game could genuinely decide his future at the football club, especially since it’s the last game before the international break – which is usually when clubs make a change in the dugout.
A telling few days await for The Foxes.
