Paul Merson issues score prediction for Leicester vs Nottingham Forest

Writing in his Sportskeeda column, Paul Merson gave his thoughts on the East Midlands derby this evening.

“I like Steve Cooper despite the criticism he received early on,” Merson wrote.

“Leicester are definitely team who have got results in them. They will finish above Ipswich Town and Southampton, but they need to find one more team they can get ahead of and that’s the tough part.

“Even though Wolves are where they are in the table now, they are not as bad as it shows. Same with Everton, they will always find a way to avoid the drop.

“This is the major concern for Leicester – can they find another team that they can finish above in the table? I do think this is a really tough game for Leicester. Forest are a better team away from home and an excellent counter-attacking unit. I’m going for a draw in this one.”

Merson predicted a 1-1 draw.

Steve Cooper must start Abdul Fatawu tonight

Abdul Fatawu earned most of the plaudits against Southampton after his sensational appearance from the bench.

The jet-heeled Ghanian absolutely has to start against Forest tonight, as should Harry Winks who also made an impact as a substitute on the South Coast.

It could be a real turning point for Cooper if he can guide his side to a third successive win – which even at this stage could really put them out of the relegation conversation.

A telling evening lies ahead.
