Leicester City may make the most of the free-agent market following the summer transfer window.
The Foxes managed to make progress in the final moments of the summer transfer window as Leicester City confirmed the signing of Odsonne Edouard, whilst sending striker Tom Cannon on loan to Stoke City.
However, the progress made was far from significant for the Foxes as they arguably were less active in the final hours than they potentially should have been.
The gruelling task of replacing Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall was eventually completed following the signing of Bilal El Khannouss, however he was certainly not the first choice for Steve Cooper as the potential signings of Matias Soule and Matt O’Riley were unable to come into fruition.
After not being able to capture all five of their targets, Leicester City could sign free-agents to plug any gaps in the squad, with five options standing out for the Foxes.

Memphis Depay
Former Manchester United and Barcelona forward Memphis Depay is currently a free-agent following his release from Atletico Madrid
It would certainly be quite a coup for Leicester City if they were able to pull off a deal for the Netherlands international, who has 46 goals for his country to his name, and with the attacker still yet to find a club, there is every chance that Leicester City could at least inquire for the player.
Brandon Williams
Brandon Williams played an important role in Ipswich Town’s promotion campaign in the 2023/24 season, and there will be a likelihood that the former Manchester United defender would be able to continue his form into a Premier League season with the Foxes.
Full-back options are far from being in abundance following the conclusion of the summer transfer window, and it would be a worthwhile addition for Cooper’s side if they were to bring in defensive players to the side.
Dele Alli
The former England international is also available as a free agent after not quite being able to live up to expectations in a spell with Everton, as well as a loan stint in Turkey with Besiktas.
The 28-year-old attacking-midfielder needs no introduction when talking about his spell at Tottenham Hotspur, and the 2016/17 season which saw him get an incredible 26 goal contributions in the league.
It would certainly be a risk for Leicester City to sign the midfielder, however it is one that could come with an incredibly high reward.
Willian
The former Brazilian international has recently come off a fairly successful spell at fellow Premier League side Fulham, where he managed 16 goal contributions in 58 Premier League appearances stretched across two seasons.
Willian was notably a big hit at Chelsea during his seven years at the club, and he will certainly provide a solid option to Cooper in the Premier League, despite being 36-years-old.
Youcef Atal
Algerian full-back Youcef Atal is available following his release from Demirspor.
Whilst this may not seem to be much of an inspiring option for Cooper, Atal was an important figure for Nice in Ligue 1 for five seasons, and at the age-of-28, there is every chance that he could re-find his feet and return to these levels.
Atal also has vast experience at international level, notching 42 caps for Algeria.
