Leicester City will be looking to offload some of the deadwood in the January transfer window.
The Foxes completed nine first-team signings during the 2024 summer transfer window.
Leicester City paid out around £86m for their new additions, several of which are already making a name for themselves at the King Power Stadium.
Steve Cooped called Jordan Ayew ‘important’ after the forward scored his first goal for the club in a League Cup tie last week.
Facundo Buonanotte has been praised by Leicester fans since he completed a loan switch from Brighton and Hove Albion.
However, this influx of new talent funded by promotion to the Premier League is bad news for a few players.
Cooper obviously wants to and has to upgrade his squad to ensure they have a decent chance of avoiding the drop.
But this does mean several players who were once key to the Foxes have seen their game time slashed in 2024/25.
This could now force several Leicester stars to look for a move away when the January transfer window opens.
Conor Coady is struggling for minutes at Leicester City
Conor Coady joined Leicester from fellow Midlands outfit Wolverhampton Wanderers in 2023.
The experienced Premier League defender helped guide the Foxes to promotion in 2023/24 but has now been forced out of the first-team picture.
The arrival of Caleb Okoli over the summer means Cooper has plenty of options to choose from at centre-back and Coady appears to be bottom of that list.
He has not been included in the matchday squad for Leicester’s three Premier League games so far and only featured for 18 minutes off the bench in the League Cup
Leicester City summer transfer business is bad news for Patson Daka
Patson Daka, who is currently valued at £12m by Transfermarkt, joined the Foxes for big money in July 2021 from RB Salzburg but has largely struggled to live up to his price tag.
The 25-year-old only scored seven in the Championship last season and has missed the start of the current campaign through injury.
When Daka returns, he does not have a clear pathway back into the eleven following the summer additions of Ayew and Odsonne Edouard.
The former can operate on the flanks as well as up front, but it is hard to see Daka getting regular starts ahead of Jamie Vardy and Edouard this term.
Luke Thomas is not good enough for Leicester City
Luke Thomas began his career with Leicester but the academy product is yet to show he is good enough to play in the Premier League.
The 23-year-old made 25 appearances during loan spells with Sheffield United and Middlesbrough last season but failed to impress.
He has since returned to the King Power and has only featured in the League Cup so far.
Leicester do not have too many options at left-back right now, but they should look to upgrade Thomas early in 2025.
