Steve Cooper will be going into Leicester City’s next fixtures with serious worries.
Leicester City managed to salvage a point away against Ipswich Town at the weekend, one which could potentially prove to be crucial in the grand schemes of a looming relegation battle for the Foxes this season.
It wasn’t the best of performances by any means for Steve Cooper’s side, who really should have capitalised on the red card handed to Kalvin Phillips when they were 1-0 down, and Stephy Mavididi’s poor showing certainly embodied that lack of an edge on the attack.
The rest of the attack weren’t exactly up to scratch either, including the likes of Jamie Vardy and Facundo Buonanotte, with the latter being close to a suspension.
There will certainly need to be an upturn in quality in the final third if Leicester are going to get any points on the board in their upcoming games, and the difficulty of which will certainly be filling Foxes boss Cooper with worry.
Leicester City’s next six Premier League fixtures
Following the 1-1 draw against Ipswich Town, Leicester City will be facing an away trip to Man United, who they were well beaten by in the cup recently.
The King Power Stadium will then host Chelsea, which will then be followed up by Brentford away.
Two successive home games against West Ham and Brighton then await Leicester before a gruelling trip north to St James’ Park, where they will face off against Newcastle United.
On the surface, all six games look incredibly tricky for Cooper, and it could seriously cause issues in his tenure after the club’s start to the 2024/25 Premier League season.
Steve Cooper will face tricky test in upcoming games
Leicester City and Cooper have endured a fairly steady start to the season, however it is safe to admit that the Foxes were handed a rather favourable start to the campaign in regards to fixtures.
Now the tricky games are really starting to pile up for his side, and with him previously stirring up somewhat of a division in the fanbase over whether people are content with his playing style, his job at Leicester City will be made much more difficult unless he can bring out some big and unexpected wins in the coming weeks.
Some performances have suggested that Leicester do have the abilities to cause an upset against bigger teams, however inconsistencies are still fairly rife at this moment, and that must be put behind them for the several upcoming tests.
