WELCOME: Leicester City door opens to land star striker after series of negotiations as deal left unsigned

The Foxes are reportedly one of three clubs in for the striker who scored 22 goals last season

Leicester City’s hopes of signing striker Martin Braithwaite have been handed a boost after a proposed move to Olympiakos failed to materialise.

The Foxes, Southampton and Everton have all been linked with the forward who is a free agent after making the unique move of buying out his own contract at Espanyol.

Olympiakos had been reported as his next destination with the Europa Conference League winners eager to complete a deal.

But according to Mundo Deportivo and Tipsbladet, Braithwaite has jetted back to Spain with no move having been completed.

It is now reported that Braithwaite’s move now looks to be over given his trip to Athens was to sign a medical and a contract.

Braithwaite scored an impressive 22 goals in Segunda B last season as Espanyol finished fourth in Segunda B. He was top scorer in the division.

Leicester are still looking at making further additions after their return to the Premier League and Braithwaite on a free transfer might be an attractive proposition.
