Liverpool offer Naby Keita plus cash to sign £202,000 a week midfield wizard from Croatia

Liverpool has been linked with a number of high-quality midfielders, including Marcelo Brozovic.

Liverpool is contemplating a player-plus-cash deal to sign the Croatian international in the January transfer window, according to Calcio Mercato Web.

According to the Italian media outlet, the Reds would prefer to move forward with a deal including Naby Keita and cash to sign the 30-year-old Croatian international.

The Guinean international’s contract will expire in the summer, therefore the Merseysiders will have to pay a large sum of money to entice the Inter Milan midfielder, who is worth roughly 30-35 million euros.

Brozovic’s current contract at the San Siro expires in the summer of 2026, and he receives a weekly gross wage of roughly £202,000 at the club. According to CMW, Liverpool is looking for a quick deal to sign the former Dinamo Zagreb player this month.

The experienced midfielder is mostly a playmaker who can also move forward and score/create goals. He has won every major domestic trophy with the Nerazzurri and has been an outstanding national team player over the years.

The 83-cap international was a key member of Croatia’s World Cup-winning squad in 2018 and won the bronze medal in Qatar last year.

He has made almost 300 appearances for Inter Milan, scoring 30 goals and providing 37 assists. Unfortunately, he has spent a lot of time on the treatment table this season.

Naby Keita has been an injury-prone player at Anfield since joining us in 2018. Brozovic has a respectable injury record, but things haven’t gone well this season.

Brozovic has only started seven games in Serie A this season due to hamstring and calf problems. Should Liverpool move in to sign him before the deadline, in your opinion?
