Liverpool has been linked with a move for Brighton & Hove Albion manager Roberto De Zerbi, 43.
According to Calciomercatoweb, Liverpool is interested in 43-year-old Brighton manager Roberto De Zerbi if they decide to replace Jurgen Klopp at the end of the season.
So far, the Reds’ season has been disappointing. They might also miss out on UEFA Champions League qualification. Liverpool was also defeated 5-2 in the first leg of the UEFA Champions League Round of 16 against Real Madrid. And it appears that their European adventure may be coming to an end for the season.
Last season, Liverpool came close to winning the quadruple. However, their form has plummeted this year. A change at Anfield appears to be in the works for the summer. And it remains to be seen whether Fenway Sports Group is willing to part ways with Jurgen Klopp in order to bring in a quality replacement.
Roberto De Zerbi has established himself in the Premier League with Brighton, who currently sit seventh in the table. The 43-year-old could be an excellent addition to Liverpool’s squad. However, the club’s hierarchy must support him in the transfer market. And Liverpool’s squad is in desperate need of a makeover.
While De Zerbi is still a good manager, he cannot be expected to perform miracles at Liverpool, and the club must bring in better players in the summer. On the other hand, it would be surprising if the club’s hierarchy decided to abandon Klopp after just one bad season.
Since joining Liverpool, the German has been outstanding, assisting the club in winning every single trophy.
Furthermore, under his leadership, Liverpool has played some of its best football in modern times. And Klopp has firmly established himself as a club legend and fan favorite.
If FSG decides to replace him at the end of the season, Liverpool fans are unlikely to be pleased. With adequate transfer assistance, the German is unquestionably a world-class manager capable of turning things around at Anfield.
Ideally, the Reds should stick with Klopp and support him heavily in the transfer market at the end of the season. With the right signings, he could resurrect Liverpool as a Premier League title contender. Meanwhile, amid the uncertainty surrounding Antonio Conte, De Zerbi has attracted interest from Tottenham.
