DEAL ON: Luton Town keen on Blackburn Rovers starlet

Blackburn Rovers winger Tyrhys Dolan is expected to be on Luton Town’s radar this summer, as detailed in a report by The Mirror.

Blackburn Rovers could face a battacle to keep hold of the attacker in the upcoming transfer window amid interest from the relegated Premier League outfit. Luton Town have slipped out of the top flight along with Burnley and Sheffield United

Dolan, 22, made 39 appearances in all competitions last season and chipped in with five goals and four assists to help his current club stay up in the Championship under John Eustace. His contract at Ewood Park expires in the summer of 2025.

In this latest update regarding his situation by The Mirror, the Hatters are said to have been ‘tracking’ him for a while now as they weigh up a potential future swoop. Former Forest Green Rovers and Watford boss Rob Edwards remains in charge at Kenilworth Road.

Blackburn Rovers man eyed by Luton Town

Dolan spent time on the books at Manchester City and Burnley at academy level before switching to Preston in 2017.

He then had three years at Deepdale but didn’t make a senior appearance for the Lilywhites. Instead, he was loaned out to Clitheroe in non-league to get some experience under his belt.

Blackburn Rovers snapped him up in 2020 and he has since been a key player for the North West outfit.

He has played 164 games for them altogether and has found the net on 19 occasions.

Losing the former England youth international would be a blow for Rovers if he was to leave over the next couple of months.

Blackburn Rovers have become a breeding ground for talent over recent times with the likes of Ben Brereton Diaz and Adam Wharton moving on for bigger things.

Dolan turns 23 later this year and needs to start thinking about his future plans.

Can Luton Town get him?

Luton Town will have a bit of money behind them now following their 12-month stint in the top flight.

The Hatters have a strong core of top level Championship players and will fancy their chances of being up there next term. They have cut ties with Dan Potts, Luke Berry, Fred Onyedinma, Elliot Thorpe and Admiral Muskwe.

Dolan would be a shrewd capture if they were able to land his signature and would give them more competition and depth in attacking areas.
