BREAKING NEWS: List of 2 exciting Luton Town starlets that could make the club serious money

Luton Town are back in the Championship after suffering relegation from the Premier League.

The Hatters enjoyed a remarkable rise through the English pyramid to gain top flight promotion in 2023.

However, Rob Edwards’ side were unable to remain in the division beyond one year, coming 18th in the table.

Luton will now be hoping to gain promotion back to the Premier League at the first time of asking, but will face stiff competition in the battle for a top two and six position.

The transfer window represents an opportunity to make improvements to the first team squad, with the market set to close on 30 August.

But it could also be a big year for younger players to step up and stake a claim for regular minutes at senior level.

If they can step up and perform well, then that could become quite lucrative for Luton in the future.

Here we look at two young players at Kenilworth Road that could make the club serious money…

Dominic Martins 18

Christian Chigozie

Christian Chigozie is a young player that Luton supporters are no doubt getting quite excited about.

The defender is still only 17 and has already been featured in a matchday squad in the Premier League.

While he is yet to make a competitive senior appearance for Edwards’ side, it is clear that he is highly thought of within the club.

The manager praised his development at youth level prior to being included in the squad against Arsenal last April, indicating he may even have a role in the team this season.

We’ve picked him out in a few games,” said Edwards, earlier this year, via Luton Today.

“We’ve gone to watch the U18s, or the youth team or a reserve game, whatever you want to call it these days and I’ve had really good feedback on him from the staff.

“We like him as a person, he’s a great young kid, a real role model I think in the academy and they’ve got high hopes for him, so it was great to be able to give him that experience.”

If he can break into the Luton first team squad at 17 or 18, then there is no doubt he will become a very valuable asset to the club – you only have to look at the likes of Archie Gray at Leeds United, who earned the Whites a £40 million fee, according to The Yorkshire Post.

Dominic Martins

Dominic Martins is another teenager that has already been included in a Luton Premier League matchday squad.

The Portuguese midfielder could become a more prominent member of the senior squad in the Championship this season.

At just 18 years of age, supporters have every reason to be excited by the prospect of what he can bring to the team.

He extended his stay with the Hatters last summer, which is the kind of move that could now beget real first-team opportunities.

The youngster didn’t feature in the Premier League and is still awaiting his senior debut but it will surely be coming soon.

If he can hit the ground running over the next year or so and stake a claim for regular minutes, then he could become a very valuable asset for the Championship side.
