Luton Town attacker given green light to leave on loan for a sixth time

Luton Town attacker Dion Pereira has re-joined Dagenham and Redbridge on loan for the 2024/25 season, as announced by their official club website.

Luton Town have let the winger move back to the National League side on a temporary basis. He spent the second-half of the last campaign with the Daggers and scored three goals in 17 games in all competitions.

Pereira, 25, got plenty of game time under his belt with the fifth tier side and appeared to enjoy himself. He is now due to return to Kenilworth Road in May 2025 and will be eager to help his loan side succeed next term.

The Hatters are preparing for life back in the Championship following their recent relegation from the Premier League along with Burnley and Sheffield United. They will be aiming for an immediate promotion under the guidance of former Forest Green Rovers and Watford boss Rob Edwards.

Luton Town winger heads out on loan

Luton Town signed Pereira back in 2020 but he has played only three games for the Bedfordshire outfit to date.

He has now been loaned out for the sixth time since his move to his parent club.

The Antigua and Barbuda international, who has four caps under his belt so far in his career, was first given the green light to depart when Yeovil Town came calling in 2021.

He then had two separate stints at Bradford City and scored two goals in 28 matches for the Bantams.

Sutton United subsequently landed him last summer and he played 17 matches for the U’s, finding the net twice.

Pereira then dropped into non-league this past winter but was a hit with Dagenham as he now re-joins them for another spell.

Career so far

The forward started out at Watford and rose up through the academy ranks of his local side.

He was a regular for the Hornets at various different youth levels before going on to play twice for their first-team as a youngster.

Pereira switched to America in 2019 and joined Atlanta United in MLS for a couple of years before Luton Town lured him back to England.
