Luton Town maintain hot negotiation with Hull City as Middlesbrough lurk

Hull City are in talks with Luton Town over a permanent deal for Ryan Giles as Middlesbrough monitor the situation, as per a report by HullLive.

Hull City swooped to land the left-back on loan during the January transfer window and hold an obligation to purchase him permanently this summer for a fee of around £4million. He made 17 appearances for the East Yorkshire outfit in all competitions during the second-half of last season as they narrowly missed out on the play-offs.

Giles, 24, was snapped up by Luton Town last year following their promotion to the Premier League under Rob Edwards. He played 14 games for the Hatters before he was given the green light to head out the exit door this past winter.

In this latest update regarding his future by HullLive, the Tigers are in discussions about landing him on a long-term basis with Middlesbrough keeping tabs.

Giles rose up through the academy ranks at Wolves and went on to play once for their first-team after representing them at various different youth levels.

The former England youth international also had spells away from Molineux at AFC Telford United, Shrewsbury Town, Coventry City, Rotherham United, Blackburn Rovers, Cardiff City and Middlesbrough before they sold him.

He was a hit during the latter when he was at the Riverside Stadium and helped Michael Carrick’s side reach the play-offs.

The likes of Matty Jacob, Brandon Fleming, James Furlong and Jake Leake can also play there, although it remains to be seen whether the latter three will be staying put for the next campaign or leaving.
